Chris + Nettle, Owners of Ghyll Barn

Ghyll Barn truly is a family affair.

Chris runs the venue alongside Nettle the dog (she's the real boss). Dad Mike and partner Lisa operate the bar. And Mum, Barbara is often supplying the team with extraordinary bakes and actually ran an antiques business in previous years from the barn - likely where Chris gets his love of reclaimed and reused from!

The doors opened in 2021 and next year is set to be the busiest yet! We are definitely not what you would call a "wedding factory" where it's one in and one out.

Each wedding is special to us and having couples celebrate here is truly a great honour. Expect to receive the same care and attention to detail that's been applied throughout the barns.

Ghyll Barn is also a sustainable venue where a tree is planted for every couple who get married here.

Ghyll Barn is the perfect setting to make magical memories. You can hire Ghyll Barn for your wedding or celebration safe in the knowledge that it will be most spectacular.

The reclaimed vintage and rustic interior has been lovingly curated to bring you a truly bespoke venue that can host up to 225 guests. Vernacular metals and timbers each with their own story, bejewelled with interesting Antique finds, softened at the edges with flora and foliage.

There is abundant space outside to enjoy the wonderfully idyllic views.

You can enjoy welcome drinks under the Oak framed Gazebo “The Bield” that is in prime position, encouraging guests to take a moment to enjoy all that the scene has to offer, including an abundance of native hedgerows and a small orchard.
